Splodge Kids Play Cafe Review | February 2017
Fantastic small play cafe in the south (glitter everywhere but not at our houses)!
The lovely ladies of Baby & Toddler Destinations Adelaide have written this review of Splodge Kids Play Cafe – thanks for sharing with us. (see their original post here)
Splodge Corner is a small but delightfully quiet and serene play café in Warradale. Those words are not often used together (play café and serene) but this café is a lovely place to catch up with your baby group, friends or family and your baby or toddler. It has recently had a new owner take over, which explains how it has changed so much and gone from a 😀😀😀😀 to a 😀😀😀😀😀😀
We took first took twins when they were two and still today (two years later) with my four year old daughter and a three year old friend they thought that it was quite wonderful. Over the last two years they have gone from strength to the strength and I regretted not bringing my four year old son when we saw just how much new stuff there is. The interior changes every time that we have been there and they now have a wonderful house, with kitchen, mini sofa, dolls and even a BBQ, cute!
Today we took home ceramic cats painted and very glittered by our girls as well as a heap of other art work, that may or may not have been aided by two mums that got a little carried away.
What was great?
Free for babies under six months and $5 for little ones if they are playing with a sibling.
There are two great options for older babies and toddlers:
$10 entry includes:
- all play areas
- craft to make and take home
- stamping activity to make and take home
- heaps of table top activities
- puzzle games
- play dough
- Splodge ‘house’
- imagination play areas with dress-ups, ironing, baby doll, brushing and cleaning toys etc
- chalk on the walls
- cutting with safety scissors
- carpeted area with baby toys and soft cushions.
$15 entry includes
All of the above plus a ceramic painting activity to paint, decorate and take home and also includes Kids lunch platter with unlimited cordial & water. (selection of fruit x2, crackers, cheese cubes, cheezels and carrot or cucumber sticks).
For the grown-ups (one free adult entry with any child – $3 for extra adults) lounges and tables to “catch-up and relax” with free wi-fi, treat yourself to a latte, cappuccino coffee or a tea, cake or snack or toasted sandwich
- they also do fantastic kids parties.
- there is constantly a staff member there helping out and cleaning up which was fabulous because our two were loving the glitter!
- healthy food options, as well as great coffee & comfy couches for parents to sit on. .
- outside garden (undergoing renovation but has seating, sandpit, playground and lawn area)
Really there aren’t many. The craft room is quite separate now from the main area and the paints that are out are water colours and not too risky for little ones to get into. There were ample smocks to keep them clean.
There is limited space for prams, especially twin prams.
