Top Places for Water Fun this Summer in Adelaide

As the mercury climbs in South Australia it’s great to know that there are some fabulous spots around Adelaide to go to escape the heat. So what are you waiting for – get that sunblock on, grab your hats and sunglasses and cool off those cranky kids! Here at Play & Go we have some great ideas for where to enjoy some water fun.

Water Wonderland | Bonython Park

Have you checked out Water Wonderland yet? It’s the world’s largest inflatable water theme park and offers fun and excitement plus shaded tables and chairs. Read our review here.

Splash ‘n’ Bounce Inflatable Water Park | Elizabeth

With a huge array of waterslides and activities for the whole family to enjoy, Splash ‘n’ Bounce at Ridley Reserve, Elizabeth, will keep everyone cool. Read more here

Waterworld Aquatic Centre | Ridgehaven

Waterworld is a huge hit with the older Play & Go kids who love racing each other on the slides. For little ones there’s the toddlers’ pool which is shaded and comes with an outdoor interactive splash ground. Read more here



Marion Outdoor Swimming Centre & Waterslide | Park Holme

The Marion Outdoor Swimming Centre is set in grassy and shady grounds. The 70 metre long waterslide provides plenty of thrills for families in Summer.

Indoor pools; inflatable obstacle courses and slides; water playground and the huge outdoor waterslides. There’s plenty of fun for all ages here.

Adelaide Aquatic Centre | North Adelaide

It’s had a huge upgrade in recent years. The water features are fun for little ones while the waterslides and diving boards are great for older kids.

This is a picturesque spot with great shade, a nice little playground, and a fabulous wading pool. Tusmore Park is a favourite with the littlest Play & Go kids who can toddle about safely in the shade (under the watchful eye of their parents!) while the bigger kids can enjoy the playground or the tennis courts. Burnside Pool had a multi-million dollar upgrade in 2015 and now boasts new shade structures and water play equipment. Captain Jolley’s Paddleboats, Elder Park

Something of an Adelaide institution, these paddleboats are good healthy fun and a great way to end a day in the city. Read more here.

Semaphore Summer Carnival & Waterslides

Semaphore comes alive in Summer – the waterslides are plenty of fun and there is the carousel,  amusement park, the fabulous playground, skate park and of course the beautiful beach.


Visit a Beach

For some free water fun there’s no better place than visiting one of our gorgeous beaches. At Henley Beach you can play in the water fountains in Henley Square. At Glenelg they also have water fountains and a water feature/pump in the foreshore playground.

Drive onto the sand at Sellicks Beach to set up for the day and not have to lug all your gear.

In the Fleurieu Peninsula you can’t go wrong at Port Elliot and the family friendly calm waters of Normanville Beach.
