#ItsBetterOutside – Nature Play SA Campaign
Nature Play SA has launched its new #ItsBetterOutside campaign featuring resources to inspire South Australians to get outside with their families.
It is a frightening and real fact that children are less physically active than ever. It is a startling statistic that only one in four children meet Australia’s Physical Activity guidelines, but Australia’s leading body in nature play, Nature Play SA, is about to turn this notion on its head with its dynamic #ItsBetterOutside campaign.
The not for profit, South Australian run organisation has always had a simple vision…to encourage children to head outside into nature, whether that be in their backyards, local parks or wilder places, like National Parks.
NPSA urges families with babies, toddlers, tweens and teens to visit the Nature Play SA website, and check out the six lists they have developed that incorporate some of South Australia’s most iconic places. The lists offer up the best places to visit in our State under these headings:
- 11 of SA’s Best Adventure and Nature Playgrounds
- Adelaide’s Top 7 Family Waterfall Walks
- 9 Family Camping Spots in SA’s National Parks
- 10 Family National Parks Near Adelaide
- Top Forests For Families to Discover in SA
- Adelaide’s 9 Best Creeks For Families
NPSA cancelled its two major iconic events for 2020: Cubby Town in Belair National Park and the Forest Festival in Kuitpo Forest – but the #itsbetteroutside campaign and resources is the perfect alternative.
The resource is accessible and offers countless outdoor experiences and activities, there is something for every family.
NPSA, CEO, Sarah Sutter said
“The resource fits perfectly into our vision to inspire the South Australian community to engage children in nature through outdoor learning and play.
“Spending time in nature, or ‘green space’, is a great way to reduce stress, anxiety, improve concentration and generally help us feel happier.”
