Jeans for Genes Day | 2 Aug 2019

Jeans for Genes Day 2019 will be held on Friday, 2nd of August.

Now in its 26th year, Jeans for Genes is the iconic fundraising campaign of Children’s Medical Research Institute.

Kids just want to be kids, but instead of playing sports with their friends or catching butterflies on a sunny day, some kids are getting liver transplants, taking dozens of medications, or getting their next dose of chemotherapy. It shouldn’t be this way. You can help the scientists at Children’s Medical Research Institute find cures, so these kids can go back to being kids.

Jeans for Genes was established in 1994 by Children’s Medical Research Institute to fund revolutionary research that helps diagnose, understand, and find cures or treatments for conditions affecting kids, including genetic diseases, cancer, and epilepsy.

1 in 20 kids is born with a genetic disease or birth defect. You likely know and care about someone affected.  Genetic diseases are one of the leading causes of death in kids under four and the main cause of ongoing hospitalisation. To fight this epidemic, we need more research.

You can help the work being done at Children’s Medical Research Institute by signing up to raise funds or sell merchandise, by volunteering, or by donating.

Every dollar raised on the day helps scientists at Children’s Medical Research Institute discover treatments and cures, to give every child the opportunity to live a long and healthy life.
