Kids Eat Free at The Bavarian TTP | July School Holidays | 6-21 Jul 2019

The Bavarian is taking the stress out of school-holiday dining, with a kids’ eat free menu on offer every day from Saturday 6 July to Sunday 21 July 2019 between 11am and 3pm.

The kids’ menu, which entitles one child under 12 to eat for free with a paying adult, features a range of Bavarian classics and modern favourites, perfect for refuelling the family during an activity-packed day out.

Boys and girls can choose from dishes such as crispy mac n cheese balls, cheese burger, chicken schnitzel with mash or fries, the Little Brat frankfurter hotdog and grilled wraps and sandwiches.

The little ones may also like the classic selection of haus-made gelato, which comes in a trio of flavours: chocolate crumble, vanilla and strawberry.

Parents can make the most of Munich Brauhaus and The Bavarian’s everyday menu featuring the restaurants’ pork knuckle, crackling pork belly, a range of classic German and gourmet sausages, shared platters and an assortment of schnitzels. Lighter bites include chicken wings, spicy squid and build-your-own salads.

Play & Go Review

We recently visited The Bavarian, located in the new dining precinct at Tea Tree Plaza shopping centre, which opened in October 2018. It’s a large restaurant with plenty of tables and bench seating set amongst a German pub theme.

Kids are kept busy with their own menu to colour in and an activity pack.

The kids tried the chicken schnitzel and chips below which was a good size for children – not too little and not too big.

Our kids are huge fans of pretzels and these warm ones with butter were a hit.

Above is the Weiner Schnitzel and below is the Bavarian Tasting Platter, with Crispy Pork Belly, Sausages, Schnitzel, Sauerkraut, Red Cabbage, Mash, Granny Smith Apple Compote and Bier Jus. The latter is a good option for meat lovers – the pork belly had a fab crispy crackling and while the menu says this dish is “designed for one”, that one person needs to have a good appetite to finish it (which he did).

Be aware that if you order a large size soft drink it will be a 500ml serving in a beer mug (like the Lemon Lime & Bitters on the right below).  There’s quite a large selection of Aussie, International and German beers on offer for those who like a beer with their food, as well as wine and cocktails.

This courtyard area outside would be a good place to sit outside on a nice day.

The crispy Belgian Waffles with chocolate sauce and ice cream was a nice treat to finish off the meal.

The Bavarian is the first restaurant from the car park (entrance near McDonalds). Right outside there’s a cosy fire ring with seating.

The Bavarian is a restaurant option when you’re not keen on a fast food meal. It especially suits those who like German inspired meat dishes including gourmet sausages, pork belly and knuckle, and schnitzels, but has a variety of other options like salads, fish, mussels and even a curry to please everyone. For families, the kids eat free offer during the holidays will help save you some money on your family meal. Please note though that the free kids’ meal does not include drinks or dessert.
