Kokedama workshop, garage sale, bake sale | 9 July 2016
Victoria Meyer suffers from Lyme Disease which is a debilitating and ultimately fatal illness. Her friends and family are raising funds for her treatment and are putting on a fun day of things to buy, eat and do for all ages. Come along and enjoy their kokedama workshop, garage sale, and bake sale and help raise funds for a wonderful and lifesaving cause.
What is kokedama?
Kokedama is a Japanese variant of bonsai. Translated it means “moss ball” and it’s become something of an internet craze.
An all ages Kokedama workshop will be hosted by the vibrant Bonnie who is experienced at making gorgeous kokedamas.
Adults are $25, children 9yrs – 18yrs are $15, and kids under nine are free (when accompanied by a paying adult).
The price includes all the materials you need to take home at least one kokedama and all the info to make more at home. Take home packs and already made kokedamas will also be available at very reasonable prices. Please book ahead of time to ensure there are enough materials to take home your lovely creation. You can pre pay at www.victoriasrecovery.com
For all the details check out the workshop Facebook page.
The event will be under cover so this is an all-weather event.
There will be cups of tea, soup and delicious baked goods aplenty (made by those gifted in the ways of sweets). Gluten-free and vegan options are also available as well as quince paste made from local and organic quinces.
There will be loads of great stuff to buy including:
- shade cloth/gardening supplies
- household goods
- knick knacks
- cool stuff
- things you need
- things you want (but don’t really need but will buy anyway)
