The Little Mermaid | South Australian Children’s Ballet Company | 22 & 23 Sep 2017

After performing to sold out performances at the 2016 Adelaide Fringe and Something on Saturday, The South Australian Children’s Ballet Company is preparing to perform its season performances of The Little Mermaid.

“The Little Mermaid” is inspired by the classic Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale. The ballet will take you on a journey through a fun and captivating underwater world.

Rebellious mermaid Ariel is fascinated with life on the land. On one of her visits to the surface, she falls for a human prince. Determined to be with her new love, Ariel makes a dangerous deal with the sea witch Ursula to become human for a few days. But when plans go awry will the Prince be able to save the day?

The South Australian Ballet Children’s Ballet Company performs regularly throughout the year and boasts an extensive repertoire that encompasses professionally produced classical, modern, contemporary and multicultural works commissioned from leading local, national and international choreographers. Special emphasis is placed upon the creation of dance pieces that challenge and extend the achievements of young dancers to present their audience with a standard of performance that is both accomplished and visually compelling.

Bring your little mermaid or prince along dressed in costume for a chance to win a prize!
