Lollipop’s Playland & Cafe | Happy Valley

Lollipop’s Playland & Cafe at Happy Valley – Review

By Jo Parkinson

If you are looking for a way for your little ones to burn some energy, let them run loose at Lollipop’s Playland & Café!

There are three locations you can find Lollipop’s Playland & Cafe in Adelaide: Golden Grove, Croyden and Happy Valley. We enjoyed a visit to the Happy Valley venue.

The Playland is set up in two main areas; a big, multi-level play area for children 12 years and under, and a smaller section suited for children under 5 years. There is a café too, with tables and chairs throughout the middle of the room. There are four party rooms available as well, making it a great place to celebrate a birthday.

The smaller play area is great for babies and toddlers and has plenty of space for adults to assist their child on the equipment. With features such as a ball pit, slides and little pretend shop front, young children will be kept busy exploring the space and enjoying play time. Everything is padded for safety too, so you won’t have to worry about accidental bumps.

One of the most popular pieces of equipment in this area is a small light-up slide, made of clear plastic with water running through it. Children love to watch the water moving through and the great thing is they don’t get wet!

The multi-level play area is a huge space made up of different areas to climb, balance, slide and crawl through. There is a ball pit and a machine that tips out the balls once full, and ball shooters on each side. A favourite with most children is the super long slippery dips. Starting from the top of the 3 levels and finishing at the bottom, kids love to slide all the way down, working up a bit of speed as they go!

One of the main highlights at Lollipop’s Playland is the car ride. An operator starts the car up at different intervals throughout the day. The car is attached to a base, and it spins and slides side to side. It lights up and can fit approximately six people at a time. Adults can also ride, and children under one metre must be accompanied. It’s great fun and there are plenty of smiles and laughs.

There are also some arcade style games available. These can be fun for the older kids, however, they do cost extra.

Coffee and Food Options

The cafe has a great range of food and snacks available and even a breakfast menu. Hot and cold drinks can also be purchased, and everything is reasonably priced. There are also gluten free, vegetarian, and dairy free options to choose from. The food we ordered was delicious, although you might find that children are more interested in playing than eating.

One of the things that I liked most about Lollipop’s Playland was that it seemed nice and clean. I noticed the café area was tidy, tables were promptly cleared, floors were being vacuumed, surfaces wiped and even the bathroom facilities were spotless.

Lollipop’s Playland & Café is a great place to catch up with friends, celebrate a birthday, or just enjoy play time with your child.

Things to consider:

  • Socks must be worn in the play areas at all times
  • Lollipops Playland is suitable for children 12 years and under
  • A good time to visit is on a weekday, as it’s less busy
  • Because the café sells a great range of food, no BYO food is allowed.
  • Arcade games cost extra money so if you think you will be using them, bring some cash
