Luminarium: Daedalum
Transport yourself into a world of radiant colour, labyrinthine tunnels and cavernous domes.
Experience the surprising luminosity, calming hues and unexpected beauty likened to travelling through a stained glass window, a futuristic space station, or a living breathing sculpture of air and light.
For all ages, no two visits are alike as the Luminarium’s atmosphere changes according to the weather and light outside. Presented by Insite Arts.
Architects of Air designs and tours around the world inflatable walk-in sculptures. The ‘luminaria’ invite visitors to a sensory experience of light, colour, sound and design.
Luminarium Daedalum Review Notes & Tips
Luminarium Daedalum is a must do this year at RCC for Adelaide Fringe. Explore the wonder of colourful tunnels and domes; find little hidey holes to sit in. It’s an awesome sensory experience, perfect for the whole family, from grandparents to little ones.
Last time it was in Adelaide it was exclusive to WOMADelaide – this time it’s easy for everyone to get to at the University of Adelaide – it’s just near the Victoria Drive entrance on the Barr Smith Lawns.
A little tip: If you have little ones it’s best to keep an eye on them as you could have trouble finding them if they run off into other tunnels, and it can be dark.
Also bear in mind you will need to take shoes off to enter.
One of the wonderful things about Luminarium is that it is wheelchair friendly. It’s a wonderful accessible experience for everyone. Being at the bottom of the Uni, right near the entrance makes it easy to get to as well, all on flat land.
Another great thing is that Kids under 12yrs get FREE entry.
