This Anzac Day Long Weekend (Saturday April 26th – Sunday April 27th) Magarey Orchard will host its inaugural Harvest Celebration to celebrate its autumn harvest of pears, apples and locally brewed cider.
Situated in the picturesque Coromandel Valley just a short 20 minute drive from the city, The Harvest Celebration will take place over two days featuring free cider tastings by Nunkri Cider, curated picnic lunches, live music, food stalls in a re-purposed shed and tractor rides for the kids.
Established in 1909, Magarey Orchard is a family-owned and operated orchard in Coromandel Valley of the Adelaide Hills. Known for their award-winning pears, the orchard has since expanded to grow plums, apples and Nashi pears alongside the beginnings of boutique cider production with Nunkri Cider.
Magarey Orchard manager John Magarey said of the event: “We’re so excited to be able to showcase our family business to the wider community which we have worked at for over 100 years. This will be a fun-filled day for all event goers and our family.”
The Harvest festival will be a chance for the public to explore a working orchard while celebrating local food, drink and live entertainment in the beautiful Coromandel Valley. The event will run from 10am until 4pm each day. Entry will be $5 for adults and $3 concession. Children get in free.
