Minecraft is a computer based game that has rapidly grown in popularity over the past 2 years, particularly with 6 to 14 year olds. The graphics are simple and the gameplay can be as complex as you want to make it.
The Adelaide BuddyVerse Camp is a full day event where participants will be introduced to Minecraft on a PC/Mac using an educational focus on the game, on the organiser’s own unique BuddyVerse server. The sessions are structured with ‘challenges’ and the more advanced students are given strategies to coach the less experienced players.
Minecraft Camps are designed to be great fun and allow for individual and group learning. Even the most introverted children can become highly social in the excitement of playing their favourite game with so many others.
Minecraft addresses all of the 21st century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, problem solving, decision making, collaboration, communication, ICT literacy and more. At a BuddyVerse camp up to 30 kids play together in Survival and Creative mode, eventually completing a series of challenges.
