NAB AFLW 2023 Season 8 Fixture – SA Home Games
After protracted Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations between the AFL and the AFLPA, the two bodies have finalised details of a 10-round AFLW home and away season with four weeks of finals, the same length as season seven in 2022.
The season will begin Friday 1 September, during the pre-finals bye of the men’s competition, with the Grand Final to be held on Sunday 3 December 2023.
Round one will be a weekend of intrastate battles, with the Western Derby between Fremantle and West Coast (Fremantle Oval), the Showdown between Adelaide and Port Adelaide (Norwood Oval) and the Sydney Derby between the Swans and Giants (North Sydney Oval) all taking place.
OPENING ROUND IN ADELAIDE
Norwood Oval hosts the 2023 opening round Showdown between the Adelaide Crows and Port Adelaide on Saturday, 2 September 2023, starting at 2.35pm. There will be plenty of fun for families including:
- face painting
- rock climbing
- kicking inflatables
- vertical leap test
- measure yourself against the players with the height chart
- a ‘social zone’ to chill out on bean bags and watch the game
- photobooth; and
- great food and drinks
