Nature Bingo Live
Take your family to seek out and learn more about the local flora and fauna around Taperoo Dunes.
The Port Environment Centre has created a nature bingo sheet to help you learn to identify local beach and dune species, and now they are taking it to Taperoo Dunes for this Nature Bingo Live event. This is a fun way to learn about the coastal environment through a hands-on experience.
Volunteers from the Taperoo Dunes Group will be on hand to point out interesting flora and fauna within the dunes and to answer any questions. You will be encouraged to discover and explore this local environment, wandering along the pathways through the dunes.
For Families:
This outdoor session is suitable for families with children of all ages. Adults and older children will learn so much about the local coastal environment, whilst younger children will enjoy exploring the beach. Children must be accompanied by a guardian and be appropriately supervised at all times.
Adults are welcome to attend without children, as there is so much anyone can discover and learn about our local environment.
What to Take:
Take a pencil or pen to be able to fill in your bingo sheets. As it’s an outdoor event, it is suggested that you bring your own jackets, hats, sunscreen, water bottle and snacks. Wear appropriate footwear and clothing to safely explore the beach environment.
COVID Restrictions:
- Numbers are limited and everyone MUST book to attend
- Participants are required to maintain social distancing of 1.5m between other groups
- Everyone must check in on arrival (via QR code or manual sign in sheet)
- Please stay away if you are unwell
- There will be no shared food or drink – BYO drink bottle and supplies
Tickets:
- Single – $3
- Family (up to 2 adults and 3 children) – $7.50
The event will be cancelled or postponed if the weather forecast is for heavy rain. You will be notified via email and sms. Numbers are limited, so please let the organisers know if you can no longer make it.
