Our beautiful South Australian parks provide countless opportunities for children and families to connect with nature and to experience the health and wellbeing benefits of playing, learning and being physically active through bushwalking, camping, picnicking, fishing, swimming, cycling, surfing and exploring.

Nature Play SA’s Park of the Month will showcase a different park each month and encourage children and families to experience a range of landscapes, flora and fauna while taking part in fun nature based activities.

Deep Creek Conservation Park is the perfect park for families to camp, explore, bushwalk, stargaze, fish and connect with nature this April!

The Park preserves the largest portion of remnant bush on the Fleurieu Peninsula and is home to a range of flora and fauna including birds, echidnas and kangaroos.  There are countless opportunities for families to immerse themselves in nature.

You can:

  • Explore valleys of dense bushland and take in the spectacular, rugged coastline with some of the best coastal views in Australia.
  • Hike a range of walking trails with something for all ages and abilities – including sections of the world famous Heysen Trail. Even the easiest of walks will surprise you with views that will take your breath away.
  • Look out for kangaroos, echidnas or some of the 100 bird species that can easily be heard or spotted in the park.
  • Camp under the stars in a spectacular bushland setting. Deep Creek offers a range of easily accessible campgrounds and is the only conservation park within 100km of Adelaide that offers bush camping, making it an ideal environment for a family adventure.
