Playford Alive’s new Town Park officially opens today, Sunday June 14th 2015.
The Town Park is Playford Alive’s heart and meeting place. Located in the Town Centre, it is close to community, retail and educational facilities. The park will be a place where families and friends can come together and celebrate their culture – a space within which people from all backgrounds and age groups can gather and connect.
The major design components of the park include two nature inspired play spaces, a multi-use skate park, water play, tiered lawns for sports and community events, multiple smaller lawns and contemplative gardens for more quiet, family friendly activity.
The new park spaces are woven together through a comprehensive path network which links back to the cornerstone of the site, the Stretton Centre – a multipurpose community use building incorporating a public library, education and office space which will be placed within a new town square (please note: public toilets will be available soon at the Stretton Centre).
The choices here are endless for hours of playground fun, from relaxing with family and friends on the lawns with a picnic to climbing and exploring the fabulous new structures and slides. There is plenty of shade, BBQ facilities and seating available.
Playford Alive Town Park is located in the Town Centre on Peachey Road, north of Curtis Road and behind the new Stretton Centre.
