RSL-SA Armistice Day Service at the South Australian National War Memorial
At 11 am on 11 November 1918, the armistice, signed by Germany earlier that morning, came into effect, finally signifying the long-awaited end to the war. As soon as the news was known, cities and towns around Australia erupted into celebrations.
11 November 2018 will mark 100 years since the end of World War 1.
A Commemoration Service to mark the Centenary of the 1918 Armistice will be held at the South Australian National War Memorial in the city. In addition to the standard service a Tiger Moth flyover and aerial poppy drop will feature.
There will also be the opportunity to view military vehicles and research family members military history at the Torrens Parade Ground and Drill Hall at the conclusion of the service.
Road closures will apply to North Terrace and Kintore Avenue prior and until after the service.
Limited parking on Torrens Parade Ground.
