SA Whale Centre Reopening | Victor Harbor | 5 Jun 2020

The SA Whale Centre will be reopening Friday 5 June, just in time for the long weekend and for the kick off of whale season!

As the centre adjusts to the new normal, things will be a little different as they do everything they can to keep their visitors, their staff and volunteers safe.

You will see hand sanitizing stations placed strategically within the centre and visitors are asked to use them often while interacting with the displays. The cleaning regime has also been amped up and regular sanitising will occur throughout the day.

The Whale Season starts in mid-May and continues until early October in South Australia. However, whales have already been sighted as early as 4 May 2020.

What is the South Australian Whale Centre?

The South Australian Whale Centre is South Australia’s largest marine focused interpretative centre.

Visitors can experience the natural wonders of the deep, explore the world heritage listed railway building, and gain further knowledge about Victor Harbor and South Australia’s marine treasures.

The centre provides whale sighting information, education and research support services through a range of mediums. The centre brings together a unique collection of historic treasures, marine, cultural and aboriginal heritage to deliver an inspiring and enjoyable experience for every visitor.  They also have their very own 3D theatrette which is included in the price of entry.

The Whale Centre asks that you please work with them during this time of transition and they can’t wait to see your bright happy faces coming through their doors.
