SALA 2021

SALA Festival 2021

SALA will run from August 1-31 and is the largest community-based open-access visual arts festival in Australia.

The South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival 2021 Program is out now. For the first time, you can pick up a copy through Foodland supermarkets. It will also be available online and through other various outlets. This year boasts a record number of 9,167 artists participating in over 600 exhibitions across Adelaide and regional SA.

SALA is celebrating its 24th year with exhibitions in venues like galleries, retail and community spaces, cafes and open studios. After the success of their online exhibitions in 2020 there are also 17 online exhibitions for people to view without needing to step outside.

You can find SALA exhibitions in and around your neighbourhoods throughout August, along coastlines, at schools, in libraries, pubs, retirement villages, private gardens, and wineries. There are also artist residencies through the South Australian Film Corporation, Tutti Arts, and at South Australian Schools through Credit Union SA.

For the first time, this year there will be a regional SALA weekend held in Port Pirie on 14-15 August 2021 in partnership with the Port Pirie Council including exhibitions, workshops, markets and artist activations.
