2016 is going to be the largest Science Alive! yet
With over 70 exhibitors already confirmed, 2016 is going to be the largest Science Alive! yet. Science Alive! is an expo designed for children to immerse themselves in the fun and excitement of learning “why things work and do what they do”. So consider the weekend of Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August 2016 sorted with hands-on fun that is interactive, dynamic, fun and educational.
More hands-on, more food, more shows and new things to see at this year’s Science Alive!
This year there will be many more ‘hands-on’ science opportunities. Questacon alone are providing 62 separate interactive displays and some 60 organizations are all working hard to ensure there will ‘things to do’ at their booth.
There will be FOUR stages presenting continuous science and animal shows; astronomy sessions in inflatable planetariums; robotics workshops; and over 70 booths, all offering something to ‘do’ and showcasing how scientific endeavour really is at the heart of our modern society.
There will be more food! The food court atrium at the Showground will offer a wide variety of food together with those outlets within the venue.
There will be more shows! Apart from a science or animal show every half hour in the main Lockheed Martin theatre there will be three smaller stages around the venue with regular science and magic shows, so the action will never stop.
There will be new stuff. Ten science-related organizations will be at the event for the first time – all with cool hands-on activities.
There will also be a ‘celebrity’ science show presenter this year – Ruben Meerman, the Surfing Scientist and regular Catalyst presenter, who will be giving three shows each day.
