South Australia’s National Parks are reopening for camping on Monday 11 May 2020
National Parks and Wildlife Service South Australia are reopening National Parks for camping, plus parks accommodation and camping on Crown Lands will also reopen.
Park facilities now open include:
- Campgrounds (from Monday 11 May 2020)
- Group facilities such as barbecues, firepits, showers, indoor camp kitchens (from Monday 11 May 2020)
- Bookable accommodation such as shearers’ quarters and lightkeepers’ cottages (from Monday 11 May 2020)
- Outdoor tennis courts in Belair National Park (open now)
- Rock climbing in Morialta Conservation Park and Onkaparinga River National Park (open now)
Remember that social distancing rules are still in place. You’ll need to keep 1.5 metres space between people and group sizes are restricted to 10 people. Please respect other campers by practising good hygiene and please do not visit a park if you are feeling sick or are required to self-isolate.

Playgrounds in our National Parks reopened on Monday, 4 May 2020.

Are any parks closed?
In response to South Australian Government COVID-19 restrictions, access to parks and their facilities in South Australia is changing regularly. You can keep up-to-date by checking in with the Parks SA website or following them on Facebook.
Bookings for camping can be made online from 9am on Monday 11 May 2020.
