National Parks and Wildlife Service South Australia are reopening National Parks for camping, plus parks accommodation and camping on Crown Lands will also reopen.
Park facilities now open include:
- Campgrounds (from Monday 11 May 2020)
- Group facilities such as barbecues, firepits, showers, indoor camp kitchens (from Monday 11 May 2020)
- Bookable accommodation such as shearers’ quarters and lightkeepers’ cottages (from Monday 11 May 2020)

- Rock climbing in Morialta Conservation Park and Onkaparinga River National Park (open now)
Remember that social distancing rules are still in place. You’ll need to keep 1.5 metres space between people and group sizes are restricted to 10 people. Please respect other campers by practising good hygiene and please do not visit a park if you are feeling sick or are required to self-isolate.
Please also download the official government “COVIDSafe” app in the Apple App Store or Google Play, or join the WhatsApp channel on iOS or Android.
Are any parks closed?
Cleland Wildlife Park, Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens, Seal Bay, Naracoorte Caves, Tantanoola Caves, Adelaide Gaol and Fort Glanville Conservation Park are still closed in the interests of public health and safety (as at 11 May 2020).
In response to South Australian Government COVID-19 restrictions, access to parks and their facilities in South Australia is changing regularly. You can keep up-to-date by checking in with the Parks SA website or following them on Facebook.
Bookings for camping can be made online from 9am on Monday 11 May 2020.
