The City of Charles Sturt is proud to present the Spring Garden Competition 2016
It’s that time of year again, where we celebrate our City’s avid and enthusiastic gardeners and the City is buzzing with excitement!
It is wonderful to see the passion that people in the community have in establishing and caring for their beautiful gardens.
Creative and well-tended garden entries are expected from a wide variety of city landscapes including:
- traditional back gardens
- courtyards
- balconies
- river-frontages
- corporate green-spaces
- community gardens; and
- school yards.
Spring Garden Competition Children’s Colouring Competition
The children’s Colouring Competition was so popular last year, the council has decided to continue it in 2016. This year the theme is ‘bees’.
The colouring competition is open for two age group categories: 2-5 yrs and 6-10 yrs.
There are two amazing prizes to be won! Download a copy of the colouring competition image here, specifically designed with bees in mind.
Spring Garden Competition “Best Street” category
The “Best Street” category is on again this year, so rustle up your neighbours, have a street working bee, tidy up your street and nominate for this category
This is an inclusive event and we strongly encourage entries from young aspiring green thumbs (children) to older green thumbs, individual gardeners, families, community groups, different cultural groups, commercial organisations and small businesses. With nine categories, there is certainly something for everyone.
Entries must be submitted no later than Tuesday 6 September 2016.
