Tangari Trails Opening Jam | Woodcroft

Young BMX and mountain biking enthusiasts will love the new dirt jump site at Tangari Regional Park, located on the corner of Pine and Pimpala Roads at Woodcroft.

A project combining the City of Onkaparinga and the local community, the council responded when they noticed the community had been maintaining the jumps and creating new jumps and courses.

The crew’s proactive work and committed caretaking of the jumps, led by Matt Cuppleditch, prompted the council to begin a joint project to redevelop and maintain the site, including more riding experiences, a beginner pump track, a perimeter jumps trail and a start mound.  The council worked with the crew throughout the project with volunteers aged from 10 to 25 years helping out.

The result is a site that is accessible to all ability levels, from young children on balance bikes to advanced riders who love the challenge of taking on a five or six-foot jump.

On Saturday 22 February 2020 between 10am and 2pm you can join the celebrations at the opening of the new jump line.  There will be free BMX clinics by Lighthouse Youth Projects, plus food and drinks available.

Tangari Park contains approximately 60 hectares of natural vegetation and 65 hectares of open parklands. Features include bike paths, BMX track, walking trails (unpaved) and a car park.
