The SACARE Carers Lounge has partnered with the Adelaide Fringe to bring accessibility to the experience, providing a space for art enthusiasts of all abilities.
The Carers Lounge isn’t just a physical space; it’s a Very Inclusive Pass (VIP). Two spaces designed for visitors with sensory and mobility needs to enjoy the whirlwind of the Adelaide Fringe with the assurance they can retreat or tend to medical needs if required.
The SACARE innovation was created to make the Fringe accessible to everyone. For the first time, all art enthusiasts living with disability and a love of live performances can enjoy these events in comfort, dignity and privacy.
Key features:
- Sensory Pod: A retreat with interactive screens, bubble tubes, and fiber optic lights. Escape the Fringe frenzy, designed for both children and adults.
- Changing Pod: Equipped with a height-adjustable change table and hoist, it ensures respectful care.
- Medication/Feeding Lounge: A discreet lounge area for PEG feeding, medicine preparation and personal care needs.
Location & Opening Hours:
The SACARE Carers Lounge will be located in Rymill Park, opposite Tandanya.
It’s FREE to access and open:
- Wednesday – Friday | 3pm-6pm
- Saturday | 12pm-7pm
- Sunday | 1pm-4pm
