The High Tea Party | Adelaide Review | 2018

The High Tea Party 2018 | Adelaide Review

The High Tea Party has been designed to allow women to spend time with their special friends or family and to indulge in some time out from ordinary life while enjoying lovely food and fashion in a luxurious hotel.

The High Tea Party is an experience and there were plenty of women of all ages enjoying their special time at the Hilton, sipping tea and sparkling wine and browsing the fashion stalls. It’s not hard to see why this is an ever increasingly popular once-a-year event for Adelaide.

Upon arrival at the Hilton Adelaide, we were given Sparkling Wine and then ushered promptly to our allocated table in the High Tea Party function room.

Upon entering the High Tea function room, we were greeted with tables beautifully laid out with Royal Doulton China and each guest received a large, red Birds Nest bag filled with goodies and vouchers. These included a Women’s Weekly magazine, 2 taco kits and Kombucha Tea drinks. There were numerous competitions to enter with prizes drawn during the High Tea sitting.

We were offered multiple cups of tea and coffee to complement a delightful array of high tea goodies including sandwiches, mini quiches, macarons, lemon meringue tarts, scones, cake and bagels. There was definitely enough food to satisfy and I’m glad I did not eat breakfast!

After half an hour of chatting and enjoying our treats, there was a guest speaker representing a charity, followed by two fashion parades featuring innovative clothing and lingerie to cater for women of all sizes and shapes.

The sitting in the High Tea room lasted approximately 1.25 hours, after which we moved out into the foyers to browse a large variety of stalls on the first floor of the Hilton Adelaide.

It was great to see stalls catering for a wide variety of tastes and budgets.

The range of stalls appears to change from year to year and this year they were made up of local and interstate businesses including the Hahndorf Fairy Garden which had a gorgeous display of items, Tupperware, Birds Nest clothing and Intimo lingerie and clothing.

Interstate stallholders included Lou Webb hats featuring beautiful handmade felt hats.

There were also boutique jewellery stalls, clothing stalls and an array of handbags, accessories, cosmetics and nail polish stalls, all of which were available for browsing prior to and following the High Tea sitting.

The great thing about The High Tea Party is that you can meet your friends and family and spend time browsing stalls together without having to leave promptly.

There were four sittings per day and guests had the option of paying extra to upgrade to the Tea Garden or VIP experience, both of which feature varying levels of extra pampering, drinks, service and treats.

The High Tea Party is a unique experience which appeals to a broad range of women of all ages.
