Theatre Bugs is proud to present THE TEDDY BEARS’ PICNIC, which returns for its third Adelaide Fringe season.

If you go down the the woods today, you’re sure of a big surprise!

This gorgeous interactive musical play focuses on the themes of friendship and loyalty and is aimed at children aged 1 – 7 yrs. When Chloe finds a hole in Taylor (her teddy) she decides to throw the bear away with a pile of other old toys. However, Taylor is determined to avoid her fate and runs away to the Magic Forest where she befriends Flower Fairy Larry and the Toe-Tapping Teddies. Her new friends invite Taylor to the annual Teddy Bears Picnic and then the fun really begins!

One of the unique and most appealing aspects of this musical play is the way the children in the audience are integrated into Taylor’s journey. As soon as the youngsters enter the theatre, they are transported to the Magic Forest where they dance, sing and have fun at a real teddy bears’ picnic! Bring your teddy bear!

The show has received a mini makeover since the 2013 season – it’s even better! There are some new cast members who are experienced Adelaide performers, a couple of new poppy songs and an even funnier script. It’s perfect for kids 1 – 7 yrs but there are also lots of laughs in there for the adults.

Play & Go Review

We sent along a family with children aged 6 years, 4 years, 2 years & under 12 mths to see the 2015 show and all the kids loved it. There’s a great mix of comedy, singing and dancing to get the kids on their feet, and keep the mums and dads amused. It’s a simple story for little ones to follow, about a tiring old bear who’s brought back to life by some fairy magic at a teddy bear’s picnic. The characters were all colourful and fun. Don’t forget to bring your favourite special teddy bear too! The venue is air-conditioned so even on a hot day it was cool inside. The Teddy Bears’ Picnic is a great display of local young talent, providing great fun for families. A perfect introductory to The Fringe for little ones.
