West Torrens Christmas Fare
Enjoy festive family fun these school holidays at the City of West Torrens’ all-new FREE Christmas events. The fun will kick off with the lighting of the 2022 Riverbank Christmas Display on Sunday 27 November.
The merry magic continues each Sunday for three more weeks with a host of events, all within walking distance of the Display.
Free Family Fun Day
On Sunday 4 December, grab the crew and head to Thebarton from 11am – 8pm for a Family Fun Day on the lawns at 35-37 Stirling Street.
Boredom busters include face painting, Christmas craft-making, interactive performances with the Nylon Zoo and The Amazing Drumming Monkeys, and a chance to release your inner artist by helping create a new community mural. A special sensory-friendly hour will take place from 11am-noon. BYO picnic or tuck into yummy local treats from Thirty Five Stirling, Brightstar Brewing or food trucks Weinerbago, Paella bar, Spinning Spuds, Tachs Stroopwafel and Taste of Paradise.
Local gym 2m2 Fitness and Self Defence will also be opening their doors with FREE games, an obstacle course and a colouring in competition for kids. There will also be a free 30 minute group fitness class (from 1.45pm) along with boxing and martial arts demonstrations.

Christmas Markets
Forget the annual present panic too. On Sunday 11 and Sunday 18 December, make a day of it at the new Lollipop Christmas Markets along Holland and Winwood Streets in Thebarton. Find stocking fillers galore at this street-party-style event before kicking back to live tunes while the kids enjoy free entertainment and workshops.

Getting there:
Along with surrounding street parking, the Adelaide Entertainment Centre and Coopers Stadium are also offering 2 hour free parking on dates without events planned for the Adelaide Entertainment Centre or Coopers Stadium. Please see Adelaide Entertainment Centre and Coopers Stadium for current event schedules to avoid parking fees. The site is also accessible via public transport, including the Adelaide Entertainment tram stop (free between Adelaide city centre) and the Bowden train station (approx. 450m from the display).

While you’re nearby, you can also visit the 2022 Riverbank Christmas Lights Display located on the corner Adam Street & Port Road, which is within easy walking distance.
The lights will be switched on from Sunday 27 November and run every night throughout the festive season!
