Wizardry and Wheels – a magical day at Birdwood!

Sunday 11 January 2015 will be a magical day as the National Motor Museum becomes enshrouded in an enchanted circle.  Wizardry and Wheels is flying in for one spell-binding day only and the whole family needs to ‘harry’ up to Birdwood, ‘potter’ around the Museum and be enthralled by what is in store.

Amazing wizards and magicians from the Australian Society of Magicians will teach their secrets, Quidditch workshops and demonstrations and the world’s worst wizard Horatio Hagglethorpe will perform the Wizard Who Wasn’t.  Children can dive into the costume trunk, dress-up as a witch or a wizard and take a selfie with the Enchanted Car.   The best pic of the day posted on the Museum’s Facebook page wins a prize pack.

Magic Workshops will be held at 11.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm for children 6-12 years who must register on the day (places limited).

The SAPOL Road Safety Centre will be presenting road and rail safety centred around the ‘Hogwarts Express’.

Included in the entry price, other activities include Wheelie Kids, face painting, ‘ Wizardry’ Trails through the Museum, Bouncy Castle, Fun on the Run Ball pit and much more.

Kids can also enter the summer-long LEGO® Competition. Their challenge is to create a magical vehicle from LEGO supplied. At the end of the holidays $1000 of LEGO is up for grabs.  An Enchanted Car display will also run the entire school holidays.

National Motor Museum Lego Comp

Cost $12 adults, $10 concession, $5 child or $30 family (2 adults and up to 6 children).

Head to History SA’s new web page to find out what else is on offer these holidays at its museums – the National Motor Museum, SA Maritime Museum and the Migration Museum.
