As part of the City of Marion’s upcoming playground upgrades, Yanyarrie Reserve will soon have a new $359,000 playground. Highlights of the new build include a basket swing suspended from a 4.5 metre high tower, a trike track, 3 on 3 basketball and netball court and kick ball on the lawn.
After resident consultation was undertaken by the City of Marion to find out playground needs in May 2020, landscape designers have included the following design features:
- Younger Children’s play equipment
- 360° Gyro basket swing
- Boulder Climbing
- Nature Play
- Retain existing fence
There will also be:
- A trike track
- 3 on 3 basketball
- Netball court
- Lawn to kick a ball
Other Upcoming Playground Upgrades:
Marion Council is also set to complete some other playground upgrades in the next few weeks.
Brooklyn Drive Reserve Playground at Hallett Cove will get a tepee climbing frame with net and slide as part of the new $111,750 upgrade.
Oakvale Reserve at Hallett Cove’s $105,250 upgrade will feature a new mini soccer goal, slide, climbing platform and nature trail.
The $330,000 revamp of Central Avenue Reserve at Hallet Cove will be getting a flying fox, climbing frame, two swings sand pit and picnic facilities.
