Adelaide is celebrating 50 years of Rundle Mall magic in 2026 with a week of free family fun in September.
From Tuesday 1 – Sunday 6 September 2026, immerse yourself in the festivities – from dazzling displays of dance and music that take over the Mall, to a collection of memory-making moments that will delight visitors of every age.
For 50 years, Rundle Mall has been at the heart of Adelaide, welcoming generations of locals and visitors alike. Its arcades, laneways and bustling shopping precinct have become part of everyday life, while iconic landmarks like the Mall’s Balls and the beloved bronze pigs have become enduring symbols of the city and favourite meeting places for countless South Australians.
Over the past five decades, Rundle Mall has been the setting for countless memories – from first jobs and first dates to weekend shopping trips and late-night Friday errands. Many South Australians fondly remember childhood visits to the Magic Cave at Christmas, spending hours exploring every floor of John Martin’s with the famous lift attendants, or the excitement of a day at Dazzeland inside the Myer buidling. These shared experiences have helped make Rundle Mall much more than a shopping destination – it’s a place woven into Adelaide’s history and the memories of generations.
