FREE Trucks on Tour Event during the October School Holidays.

The City of Onkaparinga’s much-loved Trucks on Tour is back and bigger than ever! Head to Wilfred Taylor Reserve, Morphett Vale, on Friday 10 October (10am–2pm) for a free family day out packed with trucks, entertainment, food, and fun.

Trucks on Tour is a free community event hosted by the City of Onkaparinga. Designed to immerse children and their families in the workings of council’s trucks and vehicles whilst capturing their imagination as they climb into, explore and watch them at work.

This year, kids (and adults!) can get up close to more than 40 vehicles, including:

• Emergency service vehicles from SAPOL, CFS, SES, SA Ambulance and MFS
• Council trucks and construction giants
• A 100-year-old show-stopping truck you won’t want to miss
• SA Power Networks and other essential service vehicles

Little ones will love climbing into the driver’s seat, exploring the inner workings, and seeing these mighty machines in action.

It’s not just about the truck – there’s something for everyone:

• Go karts and a ninja course
• Face painting, live music & roving entertainment
• Kaurna creek and cultural walks
• More than a dozen food trucks + BBQ (or bring your own picnic!)
• Special Trucks on Tour merchandise including hard hats, hi-vis vests and mini bins

Sensory-Friendly Options 

From 1-2pm, families seeking a quieter experience can enjoy a Sensory Hour with horns silenced and demonstrations paused. A Sensory Refuge and quiet activity zone, hosted by Spectrum Connect Inc., will also be available throughout the event.

Plus, MadieFidgets will be back with their popular 3D-printed articulated fidgets – perfect for imaginative play and sensory support.

Sensory Hour

Sensory hour will be held between 1pm-2pm allowing families who seek a quieter experience to attend as horns and other loud devices are silenced. Demonstrations will continue along with the other activities scattered around the events, such as roving performers, food trucks, a sensory refuge and of course, event necessities.

There will be a variety of food and drink offerings on the day including coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cold drinks, hot food and snacks. Although there will be room within the event zone to enjoy your food and drinks on the day, you’re encouraged to bring your own food and drinks and enjoy the beautiful picnic facilities that Wilfred Taylor Reserve has to offer.

Please note this is a cashless event.

Safety: A 25km/h speed limit will be in place on Wheatsheaf Road for the safety of attendees.
