Windsor Grove Playground | Windsor Gardens | Review

Windsor Grove Playground in Windsor Gardens is a small, fully fenced and toddler-friendly playground with plenty of facilities for little kids.

Review by Claire Davill

The recent installation (2024) of a toilet block nearby means this little playground is perfect for young kids. It is fully fenced, there’s plenty of natural shade and lots of toddler-friendly equipment. There’s also a picnic shelter with a barbeque, little free library, and some great adult exercise equipment nearby.

The main piece of equipment includes a little slide, climbing net, platforms and inclined climbing wall, all the perfect size for little ones.

There is a little bench with a spinner, bowls and sifter for dropping leaves and gumnuts into. The outside edge of the nearby platform has circular portholes that can also be used by bigger kids for climbing.

Two springy seats sit in the middle of the playground, a cute ladybug and a little car.

A swing set with a toddler swing and small seat swing are at the far end of the playground. Near the swings are two spinning poles.

The fully fenced playground contains two gates with child-safe latches, one at each end. Outside the fence at one end there is a picnic shelter with table, barbecue, bin and a drinking fountain.

Across the bike path, there’s a great set of exercise equipment suitable for adults and older kids. Here you’ll find an air-walker, torso twist, chin up and sit up bars, bench press and hip flexors.

There’s also a little free library here, and a free public phone with free wifi nearby too.

Just down the bike path is a brand new toilet block, that is fully accessible. You can’t miss it – look for the brightly painted building!

Things to consider:

  • While the main playground is fully fenced, the exercise equipment and picnic shelter are not. The Torrens Linear Park bike path runs alongside the playground, so check for bikes before crossing.
  • There is plenty of natural shade here, but some areas will not be fully shaded in summer.
  • There is no off-street parking, but there is plenty of street parking along Windsor Grove, right next to the playground.

Nearby Cafes:

The playground is a short drive from OG road, and the Dutch Pantry in Klemzig is just 1.4km away.

Location:

Windsor Grove, Windsor Gardens (just south of Fourth Avenue)
