West Torrens Library | Review
The West Torrens Library is a fantastic place for children to play, families to explore and the perfect opportunity to foster a love of books, reading and community at a young age!

If you find yourself in the Western suburbs of Adelaide with kids in tow and some time to kill, why not make your way to the leafy suburb of Hilton to explore the West Torrens library. The building is surrounded by green lush grass, shady trees and there are plenty of undercover areas outside to sit and enjoy the serenity.

As you enter the building there is a nice seating area with a couch next to a bright coloured wall which maps out the local area. Moving into the library there is hopscotch that grabs your attention at the entry and a toy library on the right hand side. At the time of our visit there was a make your own origami crane set up which the children absolutely loved as well glass display cabinets housing boats, LEGO® and toys.

What makes this library even more special for families is their dedicated kids area with a soft play spot, Dr Seuss themed wall paper, small tables and chairs, a play car and even a giant zebra. There is a monkey flying from the sky, lanterns and even a small fish pond. The space is well thought out, well maintained and a great place for kids to enjoy.

Apart from the great facilities this library also offers a range of fun events through out the year that cater to all ages and a vast range of interests. They have authors coming to read stories, craft classes, a little LEGO® club, the occasional visit from miniature therapy horses and much more.

So if you are a library lover looking for a fun activity the whole family will enjoy, definitely put the West Torrens Library on your must visit list. Pack a picnic to enjoy on the grass, catch an event or just get lost in the joy of reading to your kids. However you choose to spend your time, we are sure this local library won’t disappoint.
