Adelaide Festival Centre will become the home of a celebration of ballet, culminating in the world premiere of The Australian Ballet’s major revival of Sir Frederick Ashton’s Cinderella in September 2027.
This celebration brings together one of the world’s most beloved ballets, and an exclusive program of events inviting everyone to experience the magic of ballet, whether you’re a lifelong fan or stepping into the world of dance for the very first time.
The classic story of a kind young woman who rises above the mistreatment of her cruel stepsisters to rewrite her destiny is an uplifting tale of romance and magic. Sergei Prokofiev’s tender score makes for some of the most intimate pas de deux in ballet, alongside new storybook sets by Richard Roberts and Kristian Fredrikson’s glittering costumes lovingly recreated from the original designs.
The world premiere season of The Australian Ballet’s revival of Sir Frederick Ashton’s Cinderella will arrive in Adelaide in September 2027. They will be joined by the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra who have a longstanding partnership with The Australian Ballet and are delighted to continue working together to bring Cinderella to Adelaide audiences.
Presented as part of a program of events celebrating the artistry, music and magic of ballet, this dazzling major revival of Cinderella promises to enchant audiences of all ages.
