Cooking with Oz Harvest – Nutritional Educational and Skills Training (NEST)

Suitable for ages 14 to 18, this 6-week cooking course includes easy and fun weekly module activities, practical cooking lessons on how to create cheap and healthy meals, and much more.

The program includes 6 sessions that include easy and fun weekly module activities, and a practical cooking lesson culminating with the sharing of a meal together. At the final workshop, everyone receives a certificate and take-home tool kit, with infographic fact sheets and OzHarvest Everyday Cookbook.

The Nutritional Educational and Skills Training (NEST) is developed in alignment with the Australian Dietary Guidelines and healthy eating strategies with support from researchers at Deakin University, University of Woolongong, and Sydney University.

This training course is heavily subsidised by the City of Marion with tickets for all 6 sessions costing residents just $30 each.

The course will be held every Wednesday from 4pm – 6:30pm starting from 2 August until 6 September 2023 at Cooinda Neighbourhood Centre.

  • Cook simple and easy meals
  • Plan meals to reduce waste


The program costs $30 per person.   Bookings are essential.
