Cirque de la Symphonie

Following sold-out seasons around the world, including Adelaide in 2013, Cirque de la Symphonie returns to the Festival Theatre for two stunning performances that will leave you breathless. Described by the Washington Post as “nothing short of breathtaking” Cirque de la Symphonie is a show the whole family will enjoy.

Cirque de la Symphonie is a magical fusion of circus and live orchestral music

Youโ€™ll be awestruck by aerial flyers, acrobats, contortionists, dancers, jugglers, balancers and strongmen as they take to the stage โ€“ or above it — with the hottest orchestra in town! Youโ€™ll be tapping your toes to music you know and love while marvelling at the spectacle of these inspiring circus performers.

Conducted by ASO favourite, Guy Noble, this spectacular is a fusion of the power and majesty of the orchestra with the best of circus artistry.

โ€œIt really is like circus ballet,โ€ Mr Noble said. โ€œWitnessing the sound of a full symphony orchestra paired with the amazing physicality of a troupe of world-class acrobats and circus performers is simply breathtaking.โ€

Cirque de la Symphonie features classical music favourites

The program features a collection of classical music favourites including the Toreadorโ€™s Song from Bizetโ€™s Carmen, Sibeliusโ€™s Finlandia and excerpts from Tchaikovskyโ€™sย Swan Lake โ€“ all perfectly choreographed to stunning aerial feats and death defying acts.

Russian aerial artist Alexander Streltsov soars out over the audience in a spectacular display of aerial artistry or when he sets his riveting spinning cube act in motion.

The mind-boggling strength and agility of former Polish national hand-balancing champions, Jarek and Darek, is one of the most powerful acts in the program.

American Christine Van Loo provides spell-binding performances of aerial silks, rope, lira and trapeze, and Vladimir Tsarkovโ€™s combinations of mime and juggling feats with his Red Harlequin act are pure entertainment and guaranteed to please audiences of all ages.
