Joe Wells Reserve | New Nature Play Space | Netley | Opened Feb 2018

The Joe Wells Reserve project in Netley is now complete and ready for play!

Located on Comet Avenue in Netley, the new look play space is the result of a collaboration between Climbing Tree, Dirtwork Landscapes, Netley Kindergarten and the City of West Torrens.  A little gem in the hidden back streets, the reserve features a collection of real-life imaginings by the local young people.

Formally designed and constructed by Climbing Tree and engaging Dirtwork Landscapes Pty Ltd, the Netley Kindergarten is to be congratulated for their vision and deep engagement with (and respect for) children’s voice.

The City of West Torrens have also been praised for their commitment to creating a diversity of local parks for their community.

By the children, For the children (Joe Wells Reserve Redevelopment)

Netley Kindergarten children designing a natural play space for everyone

Nature play is fast disappearing from our children’s lives as screens and technology take over the art of play. Recognising our children as active citizens of the community the children of Netley Kindergarten have designed a natural playground ‘By the Children, For the Children’ for everyone in the local community to enjoy. Knowing these children will grow up to be the future of the community this is an opportunity to truly listen to the voice of children about what they would like in their playspace, knowing they can make a difference to the world around them.  Fund My Neighbourhood application
