Josh Staley | Lie to Me | Adelaide Fringe 2026

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️   5 stars for a clever show, full of surprises!

Josh Staley’s ‘Lie to Me’ will have you wondering if magic powers really do exist. From card tricks to mind reading and making objects appear and disappear, his quick, skillful dexterity managed to fool us every time.

This one-hour magic show of deception and illusion is a highlight of this years Fringe and shouldn’t be missed. It is presented by Josh Staley, who was ranked among the top 10 magicians in the world, and it shows. The friendly, light-hearted and down-to-earth commentary of his tricks kept the audience entertained throughout, and the seamless progression from trick to trick was captivating. It featured a good amount of audience participation: some from their seats, while others enjoyed time in the spotlight on stage. 

We also loved the way the show was presented. We thought we were just being impressed by trick after trick, but the most surprising result came at the end, when everything came together, and we realised it was actually intertwined. Josh’s presentation was flawless, and whether you are a fan of magic or not, it would be hard not to be wowed by this show. Lie to Me was pure professionalism, and Josh’s sleight of hand was impeccable.

Although suited to an adult audience, this show would also be suitable for older children. It is playing in the Kingfisher at Gluttony in Rymill Park until 15 March 2026.
