Lights at Mawson – Free Community Event
Running over two weekends, this family friendly FREE event will feature both day and night attractions including a trail of illuminated, inflatable sculptures.
Lights at Mawson is a new event activation, never delivered before within the City of Salisbury, showcasing the Mawson Lakes area. Featuring a trail of illuminated, inflatable sculptures around the Mawson Lakes precinct, it will provide a free, interactive experience promoting “Education, Entertainment & Imagination”.
The event will feature interactive Nylon Zoo, Ecomaze and illuminated inflatables on the lake. Each night the creatures will be illuminated from 5pm until 10pm.
Interactive Nylon Zoo and EcoMaze (SOLD OUT):
On Saturday 15 July and 22 July, the interactive Nylon Zoo and EcoMaze will be operating from 10am to 3pm, where one of the large creatures will be transformed into an inflatable classroom, becoming a storytelling theatre. Nylon Zoo will be activated every hour on the hour (between 10am to 3pm, with a maximum of 30 participants per session) and will include a fun costume parade.
EcoMaze is exotically painted by Canadian and Australian artists featuring animals, insects and plants of both countries. Each maze measures approximately 5m x 5m and features various themes – the River Murray Dome, giant flowers and plants, outstanding Australian animals and the Replant Dome where there is a velcro replanting of a deforested landscape with a basket full of leaves, flowers, bugs, pods and fruits.
