For some school holiday fun, try Cathy Gray’s children’s art classes.
Cathy Gray is an Adelaide artist whose work is all hand drawn in archival ink. The delicacy is reminiscent of an embroiderer’s needlework and in particular, lace. Her intricate and finely detailed works demonstrate a radial balance, drawing our gaze from the centre point.
Cathy is offering some school holiday art classes for kids aged 8-13 who are interested in art. The classes will be based around ‘Making your own mandala’. There are 3 sessions available and they are all held at the Glenunga Hub. Each session costs $22.
Mandalas are circular artworks made up of geometric shapes and lines originating from Hindu and Buddhist symbolism. They are known to represent the cosmos and the universe.
Session times:
- Friday 13 January 2017 | 11am – 12:30pm
- Thursday 19 January 2017 | 1pm – 2:30pm
- Monday 23 January 2017 | 1pm – 2:30pm
