Take a look under the sea during the Marine Discovery Centre Open Day in Henley Beach

During the Coastal Curiosities – Community Open Day session, you will have access to a variety of interactive discovery stations including Kaurna learning, sea aquariums, virtual reality headsets, and hands-on interactives.  Families can also meet the team from the Marine Discovery Centre.

Session highlights include:

• Aquariums featuring local South Australian marine creatures such as the Ornate cowfish, Big-Bellied Seahorses, Sea Stars, Porcupine Fish, Red handed Shrimp, Gobies, Murray River Turtle and more.
• Virtual Reality Headsets giving you the opportunity to explore the Great Southern Reef and our blue backyard.
• Kaurna Education Room (The Wodli) is an interactive room which highlights the relationship that Kaurna people have with the Adelaide Plains and the coast.
• Interactive models featuring diving games, beachcombing game plus oceanography, sounds of the ocean game, fish schooling experience, climate change interactive, marine debris, marine habitats, touchscreens, sustainable fishing, stormwater, beachcombing, and get hands-on with microscopes.
• Henley Beach Marine Trail 11.30 – 12.00pm (if weather permits).
• Each ticket holder will receive a free beachcombing sheet to take home.

TICKETS:

$16.50 per child (children 3 and under are free of charge).

Please note: Tickets are only required for children, one parent per child (multiple children are allowed though). Parents must order their ticket (free of charge) when purchasing tickets for children. Parents must stay with children throughout the session. Children under 3 years of age are free of charge when attending with a paying child.
