Mario the Maker Magician: Adelaide Fringe 2024

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️   5 Stars for fast-paced, energetic magic especially for kids!

Review by Claire Davill

From start to finish, Mario displays constant enthusiasm and has an amazing ability to hype up kids while still keeping them in their seats and completely engaged with his show.

With plenty of audience participation, kids are told that volunteers need to be sitting in their seats, paying attention, and clapping the loudest. Everyone wants to go up on stage, so this is a fantastic method of crowd control!

Mario reminds us that he’s more than 10,000 miles from home. He’s from New York and has appeared on Sesame Street and toured with magician David Blaine. His credentials are impressive, and he more than lives up to his reputation as the world’s best children’s magician. His clever, home made contraptions delight and amaze, his sleight of hand is flawless, and the audience (both kids and adults) absolutely lap it up.

Mario is endlessly positive, and weaves messages of doing what you love, using what you have, and having fun in all of his performances. He teaches the audience about famous scientists, inventors and artists, and explains the impact of what an encouraging teacher can have on a person’s future.

When the show reaches it’s finale, his wife and children join him on the stage and clown noses and giant red balloons are flying everywhere. Expect to leave the show with several noses in your pockets, on your ears and (of course) on your nose!

Mario’s show will leave you giddy with excitement, feeling upbeat, and wondering how on earth he constructed and managed to do everything he did on stage!

Mario the Maker Magician is performing in The Roundhouse at The Garden of Unearthly Delights until Sunday 17 March 2024.
