Monarto Zoo’s five adorable cheetah cubs made their public debut this week, just in time for the school holidays.
The three-month-old cubs, a little boy and four girls, excitedly explored their new surroundings under the watchful eye of doting mum Kesho.
Classified as vulnerable to extinction in the wild, these little felines have a bright future ahead of them and mark an important contribution to the breeding program working to secure the future of this majestic species.
The birth of these cubs follows a string of recent breeding successes at Monarto, as the zoo also recently welcomed two baby giraffes, as well as a critically endangered Addax, endangered Prsewalski’s Horse calf and a Scimitar-horned Oryx, which are extinct in the wild.
Race into Monarto Zoo soon to be among the first to catch a glimpse of the youngsters!
