The grubbiest, muddiest, dirtiest event of the year is BACK for October school holidays – Muddy Hands Festival!
Packed with nature-themed activities and two massive mud pits, this FREE family-friendly event gives kids the chance to explore, play, get messy, and embrace the great outdoors! This free event takes place on Friday 3 October 2025.
Try your hand at sculpting, crafting potions and seed bombs, building cubbies, becoming the next generation’s pollinator – or just see where your muddy hands and imagination take you.

Muddy Hands Festival activities include:
- Nature potions and tinkering
- Sunflower bee bombs or nature art activity
- Geocaching
- Mud pits
- Mud kitchens
- Cultural education
- Bee hotels and pollinator activity
- Evelyn Roth Nylon Zoo
- Lawn games
- Clay creatures
- Nature crowns
- Mobile cubbies
- Aboriginal message stones
- Drumming circle, junk yard music
- Aboriginal Education and Kauwanu Tamaru
- City of Tea Tree Gully Waste Challenge
Sensory area
There will be a pop-up tent to serve as a sensory regulation area. Individuals can go into the tent when they feel overstimulated.
Food & Drink
.Additionally, six food vendors will be available to satisfy all your snack, coffee and lunch needs. Or, you can take your own food and drink.
A mud wash-off station will be available, however, it’s recommended to bring towels and spare clothing for children
THIS IS A FREE EVENT. Registration or tickets are not required.
Don’t be a stick in the mud… spend your school holidays rolling around in it!
