The National Railway Museum in Port Adelaide holds various family-friendly events throughout the year for everyone to enjoy.
The National Railway Museum is once again hosting a series of fun, family friendly events in 2023 including the Semaphore & Fort Glanville 30th Anniversary celebration, Bub’s Birthday Party, Behind Closed Doors and the annual Family Fun Fair.

Semaphore and Fort Glanville 30th Anniversary of the Railway & Introduction of Steam Loco Bill | Sunday 2 April 2023
This event will be held at Semaphore. Celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Semaphore and Fort Glanville Railway and be there for the introduction of steam loco, Bill.
Bub’s Birthday Party | Sunday 16 April 2023
Enjoy train rides with Bub, plus a CFS fire truck display. Entertainment also includes Cool 4 Kids and Barrel Organ. The Scouts BBQ and Rotary Cafe car will be trading for food/drinks.
All children under 8 years of age will get a free gift.
Admission:
Entry prices will include all train rides.
- Family (2 adults and up to 3 children) – $46
- Adult – $20
- Concession – $12
- Child (5-15 years) – $8
- Under 5 – FREE

Behind Closed Doors | Saturday 20 & Sunday 21 May 2023
See behind the scenes with selected train exhibits, plus train rides with Bub. Package entry will include all train rides.
Family Fun Fair | Thursday 20 – Sunday 23 July 2023
The Family Fun Fair will feature train rides with Bub and Bill, plus lots of family entertainment. There will be an award winning LEGO model railway display and Cafe Car & BBQ. Package entry will include all train rides.
