Rezz Hotel
After a complete rebuild, the Rezz Hotel has recently re-opened in September 2021. It’s a pub with a long history, first established in 1858, and this new re-incarnation makes it unrecognisable from its previous look. The modern decor with stylish architectural features is very cosmopolitan. We heard they had three children’s play areas, terraces and lawns so were keen to check out their offering for families.
The menu has all the usual pub offerings but just note that their schnitzels are under the heading of Cotoletta. While traditionally cotoletta is a crumbed veal cutlet, here it is your usual pub beef or chicken schnitzel.
The chicken schnitzel had a thick crumb coating.
They have a churros machine and deep fryer, plus a large wood oven for pizzas. We didn’t try the churros ourselves but spied this serve below on the pass.
Kids’ Play Area at Rezz
The old kids’ playground is gone. Currently the kids’ play area is one enclosed room with several claw/skill test machines, plus two arcade game machines. If you grew up in the 70s or 80s these arcade classic games will be nostalgic with all the cool games like Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Space Invaders and more. Kids will be fighting off the Dads who will be keen to re-live their hey day and trying to beat the current ‘High Score’. The two machines are free to play (you won’t need to raid your money box for coins) and can both have one or two players.
There are two rooms on either side of this games room which are still empty and not completed yet (as of September 2021).
A grassy area outside for those sitting in the outdoor area may be good for the kids to run around but please note that it is not fenced from the car park.
We look forward to seeing what the other kids’ play areas are like once complete, and when the staff and kitchen have settled in with the re-opening.
