Pants Down Circus – Rock | Adelaide Fringe 2014 Review

Pants Down Circus is back for the Adelaide Fringe in 2014 with a brand new show guaranteed to rock your world!  This fabulous foursome know how to entertain and show off their mind blowing talent to a crowd of all ages.  This year’s theme is ROCK – think AC/DC, Queen and KISS booming from the speakers while up on stage are four energetic performers keeping the audience on the edge of their seats.  From start to finish this show is fast paced, moving from one daring act to the next, yet they mix it up with plenty of comedy relief too.  In between holding your breath and biting your nails you will be laughing out loud as they combine silliness with daring tricks, including numerous balancing displays showcasing incredible strength and stamina.

Pants Down Circus, despite the name, is a family show suitable for all ages.  There’s some fun audience participation as these rock stars encourage the crowd to get behind each performer as they take to the stage.  I observed loads of young children with their eyes glued to the stage in awe and heard lots of giggles throughout the one hour show.  Juggling, Ladder Balancing, the German Wheel, Toss the Girl and Hula Hoops are just some of the acts you’ll see during this action packed hour.  The final act was jaw dropping as the girls perform on the trapeze to endless rounds of applause.

The Pants Down circus members are Hannah Cryle, Caz Walsh, Joshua Phillips and Idris Stanton.  Working beautifully as a team, each one stays in character throughout their performances and if you have time hang around after the show as you might catch them for a cool photo opportunity!  Just as they impressed us last year, this new show for 2014 is again a stand out pick for families at this year’s Adelaide Fringe.

I liked the girl with the fuzzy ponytail – she was really strong and did a lot of cool stuff!  Taylor, 13

I loved the two girls on the trapeze doing all their flips, especially when it looked like they were about to fall, but they just flipped back up again!  Caitlin, 10

My favourite part was the guy and girl doing tricks wearing the sunglasses, and the blower was funny!  Grace, 10

Pants Down Circus performs Tuesday to Saturday at 7.30pm and Sunday afternoons at 3.30pm – the perfect time to slot in a show and spend some time with younger children in the Garden.
