Ration Challenge

Ration Challenge 2019

Students can make a difference to the lives of refugees around the world by taking part in the Ration Challenge.

Register your school for this year’s Ration Challenge and challenge the students to eat the same food rations as a Syrian refugee during Refugee Week – just a small amount of rice, flour, lentils, chickpeas, beans, fish and oil – and get sponsored to do it.

The money students raise will provide food, medicine and education for refugees; and support other communities around the world threatened by conflict and disaster.

Join the 40,000 other Australians who have taken up the Ration Challenge so far, raising an incredible $10 million to help over 30,000 refugees. Convince your school to take part in the challenge, or do it individually if you prefer.

School Registration Instructions:

REGISTER YOUR SCHOOL TEAM

Once the school is registered, they’ll have access to the Ration Challenge schools’ hub where they can access educational resources and tips to help their students fundraise. A school resource pack will also be sent, including a food ration pack to show the students.

SIGN UP YOUR STUDENTS

Once submitted, each of the students will be set up with their own fundraising page. Their own food ration pack will be sent to the school in the week before the challenge.

TAKE THE CHALLENGE

Students will be challenged with eating the same rations as a Syrian refugee living in a camp in Jordan during Refugee Week (16-23 June 2019). That means just a small amount of rice, flour, lentils, chickpeas, beans, fish (or alternative for vegetarians and vegans) and oil.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Support students to raise funds to provide food, medicine and education for refugees. The funds raised will be making an incredible difference to Syrian refugees in Jordan and others around the world.

Age Recommendation:

  • Teachers – as the team leader their main role is to support the students. They can choose to take the Ration Challenge too.
  • Senior School Students – it is recommended that school students in senior years (aged 16-18) take on the Challenge for 5 days.
  • Junior School Students – it is recommended that school students in junior years (aged 11-15) take on the Challenge for 3 days.

Individual Challenge Registration:

Anyone can also become a Ration Challenger individually. Sign up and you’ll be sent your food ration pack and welcome pack.
