SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre | Pools, Inflatables & Waterslides | Marion

SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre in Marion is an indoor swimming and fitness facility with multiple pools, a splash park and outdoor waterslides.
The SA Aquatic Centre is a world class facility where champion Olympic swimmers have competed in the pools. You’ll notice it is a very big centre, therefore please be aware that if you have kids of different ages you will need to ensure that you can supervise them adequately. Bear in mind that if you have a child playing on the inflatables, this is in a separate section quite far away from the family pools where you will need to be with a younger child, yet both need to be supervised.
The pools here include a 50m Competition Pool, Water Polo/Dive Pool, Learners Pool, 25m Program Pool and the popular Splash Park, Leisure and Toddler Pool. The water playground area is a hit with kids of all ages. There is a big bucket that fills up with water, and then dumps it down on everyone below, and adjacent to this area is the shallow pool for little ones.

Waterslides
The SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre has 2 outdoor waterslides – the Space Bowl and the Aqua Tube. For the safety of every rider, all participants are required to complete a safety swim before riding the slides.
- The Space Bowl slide is 75m in length and after going through a series of twists and turns it sends you round and round the space bowl before you pop out the bottom.
- The Aqua Tube slide is for the thrill seekers and is all about speed. Most of the time you are in total darkness with circles of rainbow lighting your way at intermittent times throughout the ride.
Waterslide Rider Requirements:
- Minimum height of 1.2 metres
- Minimum age of 10 years
- Complete a safety swim before riding – VIEW SAFETY SWIM REQUIREMENTS
- Maximum individual weight limit is 120 kilograms

Inflatable Obstacle Course
Formally known as the The AquaSplash program, the SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre has a WIBIT – the giant floating inflatable obstacle course made up of different modules for balancing, climbing, jumping and sliding.
WIBIT is for individuals aged 6 years and older who are competent swimmers and is situated in their 3-metre deep water pool. A parent or guardian may be required to accompany children onto WIBIT depending on the childβs ability/mobility, at the discretion of the supervisor. The inflatables used for WIBIT can vary and change around.

The Aqua Dash (below) is one of the Junior AquaSplash inflatables and involves weaving through the course and going down the slide into the water at the end.

Nessie the Dinosaur involves climbing over the humps and jumping into the water at the end.

Online pre-bookings are essential with WIBIT 60-minute bookings commencing on the hour. You need to arrive 15 minutes prior to your booking start time to check-in, organise your life jacket and to be directed to the WIBIT start area. They recommend arriving ready to swim.

No other pool or area is included in this booking and WIBIT is not available on all dates and times.
Over in the other part of the swimming centre there are family pools and on the day we visited this smaller inflatable obstacle course was great for the little ones and was free to use as part of the entry fee. There was always a swim instructor in the water at the end of the course to help kids get back to the edge of the pool if they needed it. Another staff member strictly enforces only one child at a time on this as well. The younger Play & Go kids loved this and even the older 8 year olds enjoyed doing this as well.

Be prepared to spend a few hours here as the kids will find plenty to do in the water. There is an onsite cafe too for snacks, food and drinks.
