SALA Festival 2022 – Celebrating 25 Years

SALA runs for the entire month of August and is the largest community-based open-access visual arts festival in Australia.

The South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival 2022 Program is out now. You can view it online or pick up a copy through Foodland supermarkets and other various outlets. You can refine your search by venue or artist, plus there are workshops, masterclasses, tours and much more.

SALA is celebrating its 25th year in 2022 with exhibitions in venues like galleries, retail and community spaces, cafes and open studios. After the success of their online exhibitions in 2020 there are also numerous online exhibitions for people to view without needing to step outside.

Every year, an established South Australian artist is celebrated as the SALA Feature Artist.   This artist’s work features on the SALA poster and printed program, and will be exhibited during the SALA Festival. Mark Valenzuela will be celebrated as the 2022 SALA Festival Feature Artist and Mark’s work will be on display at the Adelaide Central Gallery and the Art Gallery of South Australia.

You can find SALA exhibitions in and around your neighbourhoods throughout August, along coastlines, at schools, in libraries, pubs, retirement villages, private gardens, and wineries. There are also artist residencies through the South Australian Film Corporation, Tutti Arts, and at South Australian Schools through Credit Union SA.
